The ‘Witnesses to history’ collection charts the social, political, economic and cultural events that have shaped Switzerland from 1945 to the present day, arranged in thematic groups and based around selected criteria (individual objects) and the contexts of lived experience (ensembles). 

The topics covered are: politics (events, social movements), economy (products and technologies), culture, entertainment, media, sports, advertising, mobility, consumerism (the private household, trend products), and public and private space (amenities such as the office)
